Dr Joe Kibble
DClinPsy, PGCert, BSc (Hons), Registered Clinical Psychologist (HCPC)
Dr Joe Kibble is an allied psychologist of True North Psychology. He is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience supporting people with a range of difficulties both in NHS and independent services. Over the years Joe has supported people with issues such as depression, stress, and many different forms of anxiety. He is also experienced in managing sleep difficulties and has taught on the subject as a visiting lecturer at University College London (UCL).
One of Joe’s main focuses at present is in supporting people with psychedelic experiences. This involves both offering an open and safe space to think about preparing for an experience and for exploring and integrating experiences afterwards. This is both for people wishing to make the most of a positive experience and those wanting to make sense of more challenging experiences. Joe currently provides psychological support to participants in psychedelic clinical trials at King’s College London (KCL).
In therapy, Joe aims to help people get a clearer perspective of why they are feeling the way they are and what steps can be taken to not only manage their difficulties but move their lives towards a more fulfilling and purposeful direction. He approaches this by offering a compassionate and supportive space to talk, whilst also pulling upon the most recent research and therapeutic methods for making effective change.
Therapeutic Approach:
Joe is trained in using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), and motivational interviewing to help his clients reach their goals.
